In recognition of the national and international significance of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 Australia & New Zealand (FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023), the Registrar of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) will permit liquor sales licensees to extend their hours of sales and service to begin at 7:00 a.m. for the duration of the tournament (July 20 - August 20, 2023), provided that their local municipalities have not objected. The closing service time of 2:00 a.m. will remain unchanged.
The extension of hours does not apply to a by-the-glass endorsement on a Manufacturer’s Licence and so regular hours of 9:00 a.m. to midnight remain unchanged for that type of licence.

Municipal Option to Object to Extension of Hours
A municipality may indicate to the AGCO that it objects to the extension of hours for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023. To indicate an objection, a Municipal Resolution or letter from the City Clerk may be submitted to the Registrar by sending an email to municipal@agco.ca. Any such objections will be respected and the usual hours of sale and service will remain 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. in those municipalities.
A list of municipalities in which the extension does not apply will be listed below. Please check to ensure that if you intend to extend your hours, your municipality is not listed below.
