Mini bar licence

To sell liquor only from a mini bar in a hotel room and not anywhere else, you'll need a mini bar licence. Learn more about mini bar licences here.

Overview

To sell alcohol only from a mini bar in hotel rooms, you need to apply for a mini bar licence.

If you already have a liquor sales licence for your location and want to also sell liquor from a mini bar located in hotel rooms that are adjacent to the liquor sales licensed area, you can apply for a mini bar endorsement. There’s no fee for a mini bar endorsement.

Mini bar licence vs mini bar endorsement

There are two ways you can have mini bars available to guests:

  • Get a mini bar licence if you will only sell liquor from a mini bar in hotel rooms.
  • Get a mini bar endorsement if you want to have mini bars in hotel rooms and you already have a licence for another part of your business, such as a restaurant or bar. For more information, see the Endorsements page.
