Represent a manufacturer

Find out what licence you need to represent a manufacturer of wine, beer or spirits in Ontario.

Overview

The AGCO licences and regulates manufacturers who make wine, beer and spirits in Ontario. We play the same role for their agents and agents of foreign manufacturers.

A licence to represent a manufacturer allows you to canvass, receive, or take orders to sell and deliver liquor for a manufacturer you represent. You can also conduct samplings.

You can’t sell wine, beer or spirits directly to the public or to the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) with this licence. This licence also doesn’t allow you to import liquor directly. You must import liquor products through the LCBO.
