On July 9, 2021, the Ontario Government announced that the province will enter Step Three of the province’s Roadmap to Reopen as key public health and health care indicators continue to improve and the province surpasses vaccination targets.
The province will enter Step Three of the Roadmap on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 12:01 a.m. Licensees and operators must continue to follow the rules and public health measures under Step Two of the Roadmap until Step Three takes effect. The AGCO has updated its COVID-19 webpage to highlight the relevant Step Three public health measures applicable to each of its regulated sectors, including information for casinos, bingo halls and gaming establishments permitted to open in Step Three under specific conditions.
The government has indicated Step Three restrictions will remain in place for at least 21 days. With continued improvements in other key public health and health system indicators, it is possible that the majority of public health and workplace safety measures, including capacity limits for indoor and outdoor settings and limits for social gatherings, will be lifted at that time. Further updates will be provided to inform the AGCO’s licensees and operators as additional restrictions are lifted.
Licensees and operators must follow any additional restrictions enacted by the province, their local Medical Officer of Health or their municipality, and they must continue to meet all other existing legislative and regulatory requirements.
