The Government of Ontario has amended Regulation 718 under the Liquor Licence Act to reduce administrative burden on businesses and provide additional flexibility for licensees.

Effective July 1, 2021, there will no longer be a limit on the amount of liquor that the holder of a Licence to Represent a Manufacturer (Manufacturer’s Representative) may keep at their premises. All other regulatory requirements remain in place, including the requirement that any liquor kept at the premises must be for the purposes of delivery to a purchaser with a valid purchase order, or for market research and sampling.

Previously, a licensed Manufacturer’s Representative could only keep up to 360 litres of liquor at their premises.

Please note, while this Information Bulletin highlights specific details associated with a regulatory change, licence and authorization holders are urged to review the specific amendments to ensure that they are in compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements.
