Liquor licensees must now complete all of their alcohol-related transactions with the AGCO online through the iAGCO portal

iAGCO phase two transition period ends

The one-year transition period for phase two of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario’s (AGCO) online service delivery has now ended.

As of January 29, 2019, liquor sales licensees and all other liquor licensees will conduct their AGCO-related transactions online through the iAGCO web-based portal.  Traditional paper-based applications, renewals or modifications will no longer be accepted.

All AGCO alcohol-related transactions associated with holding an alcohol-related licence or authorization, including liquor sales licences, endorsements, temporary extension of hours and/or premises and changes and/or additions to existing licensed areas, are now exclusively online for:

  • Liquor sales licensees
  • Liquor manufacturers
  • Manufacturer representatives
  • Grocery store authorization holders
  • Auction authorization holders
  • Liquor delivery services
  • Ferment on premise facility locations

Submission of all public inquiries, questions, complaints and objections to liquor licence applications are also now paperless and must be made either online through the iAGCO portal or via email, telephone and in-person.

Two- or four-year licence term options available

Licence term options are available when applying for and renewing liquor licences or authorizations. Licensees can select a two or four-year term duration, with fees payable to match the length of the term. For a description of the fee structure, please visit the Alcohol Licensing Fees page.

Online payment options

When using online services, all payments under $30,000 must be made by Visa, MasterCard, Interac Online, Visa Debit (NEW) or MasterCard Debit (NEW).

Payments of $30,000 or more must be made by money wire transfer or electronic funds transfer.

NOTE: Cheques, cash and American Express are not accepted as forms of payment when using iAGCO online services. The Bank of Montreal no longer offers the Interac online payment service.

iAGCO online services

iAGCO online services provide a quicker, easier, more convenient way to conduct AGCO-related transactions anytime from anywhere.

Liquor licensees are now accountable for submitting their own application through their iAGCO account themselves and will receive all future expiry reminders by email, once approved.

Licensees will receive an online access code from the AGCO (if they haven’t already received one) 60 days before their current licence is set to expire and will use that access code to link their new iAGCO account to their existing information already on file with the AGCO.

Licensees can make amendments online anytime. They don’t have to wait to receive their renewal letter to do so. Licensees who have not yet received an online access code can call AGCO Customer Service toll free 1-800-522-2876 to get one.

More online services to come

In 2017, the AGCO began rolling out online services in phases as part of its ongoing efforts to provide a modern, quality customer service experience. In addition to liquor licensees and the public, iAGCO online services are currently available for Special Occasion Permits, lottery and gaming registrants and selected cannabis private retail lottery recipients.

Future iAGCO phases will include online services for horse racing transactions, electronic gaming equipment and charitable gaming licenses.

When fully implemented, all those who are regulated by the AGCO will conduct all of their AGCO-related transactions online. Customers who have already used iAGCO have been overwhelmingly satisfied with its ease of use and functionality. iAGCO has a 93% satisfaction rate.

If you have any questions, AGCO Customer Service is available to assist you.
