The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has launched stakeholder consultations regarding the regulation of inducement activity between federally Licensed Producers and licensed retailers in Ontario’s cannabis retail industry.
With the launch of this consultation, the AGCO is furthering its objective of addressing the illicit market, which includes promoting consumer choice and a level playing field in Ontario’s legal cannabis industry. It is important that the province maintains a cannabis marketplace where retailers and Licensed Producers of all sizes have a reasonable opportunity to enter and compete.
The AGCO has proposed new draft Standards that, if adopted following stakeholder feedback, would provide greater clarity and certainty to cannabis retail licensees.
The AGCO is committed to engaging with our stakeholders in order to develop Standards that will help Ontario advance its ongoing effort to address the illicit cannabis market.
The deadline for a response to the survey is August 23, 2021.
