Today, the AGCO has launched an online portal to engage with industry stakeholders with an interest in internet gaming (igaming) in Ontario. Over the next several months, the AGCO will undertake a series of engagements on key technical components of the igaming framework, starting with an opportunity to provide input into draft Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming.
The AGCO is committed to engaging with stakeholders in advance of the establishment of Ontario’s new framework for igaming to understand the anticipated effectiveness and impacts of proposed standards, programs and processes, and to adjust based on feedback where possible and appropriate.
Feedback provided through these engagements will be used by the AGCO to inform the regulatory framework, and by the igaming subsidiary in its operations. The AGCO and igaming subsidiary’s stakeholder engagement will manage potential real or perceived conflicts of interest.
The AGCO will work with the Ontario Government, the igaming subsidiary, industry and key partners to develop a competitive online gaming model that fosters an exciting gaming experience, protects consumers, supports market growth and enables opportunities for businesses.
For more information on participating in these engagement opportunities, please register for the AGCO’s igaming engagement portal. This portal will be updated with more opportunities for input as details about Ontario’s expanded igaming market emerge.
AGCO engagement opportunities are complementary to the feedback request launched on March 3, 2021 by the Ministry of the Attorney General and the Ministry of Finance. All are welcome to provide feedback to government until April 16, 2021.
