Police Constable Sunjeet Rangi of the Toronto Police Service’s 13 Division Community Response Unit is the 2020 recipient of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) award for Outstanding Liquor Enforcement. The AGCO congratulates PC Rangi, who has been recognized for his role in a two-year effort to address community complaints against a problematic establishment in Toronto.

Police Constable Rangi played a lead role in addressing complaints against an unlicensed after-hours bar, coordinating a joint OPP-AGCO investigation into the Toronto establishment that had local residents worried for their safety. After two years of hard work, PC Rangi and his colleagues managed to shut down the premises by proving numerous offences under the Liquor Licence Act and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The award for Outstanding Liquor Enforcement is one of several awards handed out annually by the OACP and sponsored by the AGCO. It is presented to the police agency that demonstrates excellence and innovation in liquor enforcement. The AGCO congratulates Police Constable Rangi and his colleagues at the Toronto Police Service on their receipt of this award.
