Charitable gaming

Charities may run lottery events (such as bingo, raffles and the sale of break open tickets) to raise funds to support charitable purposes. Bingo hall operators, suppliers and employees may also need to be registered to work in the industry. Learn more about eligibility and how to get licensed/registered.

Overview

The AGCO regulates lottery games for charities, religious groups and other qualified operators for the province of Ontario. This includes bingo, raffles and selling break open tickets. We assess the charities and religious groups that want to host lottery games. We also work with municipalities to make sure that charities and religious groups are conducting lotteries in the right way.
