Overview

A wine boutique sales agent endorsement allows grocery store owners to have a winery retail store located inside the shopping area of their store. If you have a grocery store licence and want to sell wine, you can get this endorsement.  

Eligibility

To be eligible for a wine boutique sales agent endorsement, you must hold a grocery store licence. You must also have entered into a wine boutique agreement with someone who has an offsite winery retail store licence. 

Step 1: Prepare your application

To apply for a wine boutique endorsement you must use the iAGCO portal.  

Step 2: Apply online

  1. Log in to your iAGCO account. 
  2. Under Existing Licences/Permits/Authorizations/Registrations click on the Add a Secondary link.  
  3. Choose Wine Boutique Sales Agent Endorsement from the list Click Next.  
  4. Go through the rest of the screens. Answer all the questions. Submit the documents the application asks for (if any).

Step 3: Wait for a decision

Once you’ve submitted your application, the AGCO will review your application. The AGCO may ask you for more information if we need to.  

Know your responsibilities

Once you’ve been approved for a wine boutique sales agent endorsement, you need to run the wine boutique within your grocery store in the right way. If you don’t, the AGCO may take actions that range from a warning, to a monetary penalty, to suspending or revoking your licence.
