INFORMATION BULLETIN No. 15

August 9, 2016 – On August 8, 2016, the Canadian Pari-Mutuel Agency(CPMA) released a Memorandum to the Canadian racing industry and to Provincial Regulatory bodies.

“It has come to the Canadian Pari-Mutuel Agency’s (CPMA) attention that the legitimate use of human prescription drugs by people handling racehorses can be a source of drug exposure for the horses that could, consequently, result in a positive drug test.”

A copy of this CPMA memo is attached to this bulletin.

The AGCO issues this Information Bulletin as a service. AGCO licensees are expected to know the Rules of Racing, closely review all memos from the CPMA, and keep up to date on the Schedule of Prohibited Drugs.
