Announcing AGCO’s new senior leadership team: Retirements create a time for gratitude and renewal

Following the February 2020 post announcing the retirement of the AGCO’s CEO and Registrar Jean Major in early September, and the appointment of Tom Mungham as his successor, the AGCO is announcing some other notable changes in its senior leadership team.

Retirements

The following members of the AGCO’s C-Suite have announced their retirement:

  • Teresa Tedesco, Chief Administrative Officer
  • Craig Slater, Director, Legal Services and General Counsel
  • William Price, Chief Superintendent (OPP), Investigation and Enforcement Bureau
  • Fred Bertucca, Deputy Chief Operating Officer

New appointments

The AGCO is pleased to announce the following new members to its leadership team:

  • Alison Jevons, Chief Superintendent (OPP), Investigation and Enforcement Bureau – effective August 10, 2020
    Chief Superintendent Jevons has been a member of the Ontario Provincial Police for 26 years and most recently held the position of Commander, Field Support Bureau. From 2007-2011, she was seconded to the Deputy Minister’s office at the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services where she provided input, advice and direction on changes to new and existing provincial and federal legislation. Alison is the recipient of the Police Service Exemplary Service Medal and is a member of the Order of Merit of Police Forces in Canada.
  • Bruce Caughill, Chief Legal Officer – effective August 31, 2020
    Bruce has over 20 years of legal experience working in the commercial gaming industry. Most recently, he was the CEO/President of Caughill Management Consulting, where he provided strategic counsel and regulatory advice to the Falls Management Company Board and to companies in the Ontario and North American gaming industry. From 1999 to 2019, Bruce was the Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary at Falls Management Company, which operated the Niagara Casinos. In that role, Bruce had accountability for the legal, Board and governance strategy, government relations, and administration. 
  • Navid Forouzesh, Chief Information Officer – effective September 1, 2020
    Navid has over 25 years of experience working in information technology. Since December 2017, he has held the role of Chief Technology Officer at Canadian Securities Administrators, where he established the technology and enterprise architecture practice and built and led a team consisting of business architects, business analysts, and solutions architects. Prior to that, Navid was the Chief Architect at the Greater Toronto Airport Authority and the Manager of Enterprise Architecture at EHealth Ontario.
  • Joseph (Joe) Pittari, Chief Administrative Officer – effective September 8, 2020
    Joe brings more than 20 years of experience in senior leadership positions in both the public and private sectors. Since January 2017, he has been the Commissioner of Legislative and Corporate Services and the acting CAO for the City of Brampton with responsibility for numerous divisions, including overseeing the City’s $700M budget. Prior to that, Joe was the Director of Corporate Support Branch, Court Services for MAG, as well as the Commissioner of Strategic and Corporate Services for the City of Vaughan.
  • Dave Phillips, Chief Operating Officer – effective September 14, 2020
    Dave has a myriad of public and private sector experience, most recently as Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Compliance at the AGCO. Prior to that, he worked at Navigator where he led integrated teams of public affairs, communications, and issues management experts. He also served as in-house legal counsel and as a member of the firm's management committee. Dave previously was Vice President, Strategy and Partnerships and Interim President at the Ontario Cannabis Retail Corporation. His leadership experience also includes several years at the AGCO as Director of Regulatory Intelligence and Director of Strategic Engagement. 
  • Elizabeth (Liz) Yeigh, Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Compliance – effective September 14, 2020
    Liz currently holds the role of Vice President, Social and Community Responsibility at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG). She has extensive career experience as a public sector leader, including several years as Director of Strategic Engagement at the AGCO, with a focus on the gaming, horse racing, alcohol and cannabis sectors. Over the past decade, Liz has played an instrumental role in delivering several major reforms, including the implementation of private cannabis retail, OLG Modernization, and horse racing reform.

A warm welcome is extended to the newest members of the AGCO’s leadership team!

Corporate Secretary & Chief Corporate Relations Officer Jasmina Milanovich and Chief Strategy Officer Martha Otton continue as integral members of the AGCO’s C-Suite.

Under the direction of incoming CEO and Registrar Tom Mungham, the AGCO will carry on in its vision to be a world-class regulator that is innovative, proactive, and socially responsible.
